Charity event for Rally Foundation
Atlanta’s Comrade Blue was formed when several neighbors and friends converged in a basement to jam. Already being friends or “comrades,” the band that formed was aptly named Comrade Blue. Through other friends and family, the band quickly took off and started playing Atlanta charity events as well as local venues like SweetWater Brewery, The Red Light Café, Red Brick Brewery, and Smith’s Olde Bar.
Comrade Blue is Ryan Elwart, vocals and guitarist, Joe Ciucci, drummer, Shane Roach, guitar and vocals, Dean Siewert, bass and vocals, and Brad Newton, keyboards and vocals. Some are trained musicians, while others previously played in regional touring bands before choosing to focus on their growing families and “day jobs.” Their original music has been labeled somewhere between alternative, indie, and Americana rock. Stylistically, we like to say: Coldplay meets Foo Fighters, bumps into U2 and says hello to Mumford and Sons. Influences are legion and include the Beatles, Replacements, Big Star, Pixies, and so many more. Comrade Blue has been told that whether they are playing for ten people or a sold out show, they always look like they are having a blast when they perform. Think about it ….five "family guys" playing for the joy of making music….
Who doesn't want to be a part of never growing up?
