Singer/songwriter Kara Frazier combines modern and classic R&B/Soul, pop and jazz elements into a contemporary powerhouse sound. She taps into her complicated past - growing up in church and a divided home - to fuel her bold songwriting.

After self-releasing a string of singles, her first major success came with 2018’s debut single “Deliver Me” produced by GRAMMY-winner Shannon Sanders (India.Arie, Marc Broussard, John Legend). Heavily promoted through independent efforts, the single received radio support from Jacksonville’s 95.1 WAPE and Nashville’s Lightning 100 and features on Spotify playlists such as Grey’s Anatomy Season 15 (250k+ followers). Frazier was recently chosen as a featured artist of Swisher Sweets’ Artist Project.

Raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Frazier began singing and songwriting at age ten and latched onto the music of Nina Simone, Otis Redding, and Etta James to name a few. Vocally, she derives her influence from singers like Adele and Amy Winehouse.

Now based in Nashville, the Belmont University alumni was selected to perform in the 2017 Emergence series, a partnership show by the Bluebird and the Nashville Ballet for the city’s most promising up-and-comers. She has collaborated with bands like R&B/Funk outfit, The Aquaducks, and opened on tour for Stax Records’ group, Southern Avenue, Mr. B, CAMM and more.

Frazier’s debut EP, Seven Ages, officially released in March 2019, in conjunction with a regional U.S. tour.

Fashionable and authentic, The Colour Negative brings a refreshing energy to the Atlanta music scene. With introspective lyrics, driving melodies, soulful riffs and Taylor's enthralling falsetto, these pop trendsetters will be quickly added to your favorite playlist. Consisting of front man, Ian Taylor (vocals, guitar, keys), London Taylor (bass, backing vocals), and Grant Godbee (guitar), this group continues to press forward in pursuit of their passion: music. Ian states the band's drive: “In a world full of uncertainty and hopelessness, we want to show people a greater hope to believe in. This band is our attempt at bringing light into dark places.” In 2014, the band released their debut, self-titled album consisting of songs they had written over the course of their high school career. Themes of loneliness, love and triumph can be found all over the album from high energy songs like "Resistant Heart" to deeper tones like "Man on the Moon". The band toured the record around the South East while continuing to work on new music. As the band matured, so did their music. In 2016, the band released the EP, "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You, I Miss You", which includes their most popular song, "Somebody" with a total of 10,500 plays on Spotify. The band stepped into the world of pop music by incorporating more synth driven songs tied with their roots of 80's inspired guitars. Songs like "Next 2 Me" and "City's Calling U" define love as something worth pursuing, while "Never Wanna Escape" brings the anthemic sounds inspired by the band's travels to New York City. Focusing on their craft, sound, and purpose, the band took a year-long break from playing live shows. On December 14, 2017, the band released their new EP titled "Reflections, Vol. 2" in which they rewrote and rerecorded a selection of songs from their first album – adapting them and growing them to fit the new era of The Colour Negative. Not long after the release of "Reflections, Vol. 2", the band began to pursue their next project – a project that would highlight how their struggles have shaped them into the people they are today. On May 11, 2018, the electric single "Dark Days" was released. Ian felt the need to write about his past struggles and how they shaped him into the person he is today, which in turn, represents the whole band. The single introduced a new era of The Colour Negative with its anthemic sound and themes. A couple months later, the band released their first music video for the single which included elements of 80’s olympic themes with a classic Rocky training sequence. The video hit 750 views during the first week of its release. Later in 2018, the band released their fall ballad called “Test of Time”. “This is what we felt like being in love in the 80’s sounded like”, says Ian. The group is planning on releasing a full length album in the Fall of 2019 and plans to tour later in the year.
