Kickin’ Edgar, one of the South’s most storied party bands, will release its first original studio album in over 25 years on Friday November 13th , 2015, at Vinyl (a division of Center Stage Theater) in Atlanta, GA.  The album, “Welcome to Loserville”, was recorded at historic Southern Tracks Recording Studio by Producer Ben Holst and features a variety of country, blues, pop, and of course, rock n’ roll tracks.

Kickin’ Edgar was formed in 1989 by four fraternity brothers at Georgia State University.  Jim Clanin (drums), Lee Freedman (guitar), Bob Shumard (Bass), and Neal Weaver (vocals) traveled across the South during the late 80’s and early 90’s creating a loyal following of devoted fans.

After a 17 year hiatus, all four original members reformed in 2009 culminating in a reunion concert at Georgia’s largest Country and Western Bar, Wild Bill’s in Duluth, GA.  Since then Kickin’ Edgar has continued to play select shows in the Atlanta area.  Recently, the band put in an appearance, and took first place, at Tunewelders’ AAC Battle of the Bands, an annual contest, which asks artists to perform both original creations and cover material held at Southern Tracks.  Judged by Atlanta’s own Michele Malone, as well as a host of other prestigious producers and musicians, the contest was a perfect jumping off point for the band and inspired them to go back into the studio and create “Welcome to Loserville”.
